Originating in Kyoto, this fifth-generation atelier combines traditional shaping techniques with today’s design concepts. All of their wild, Japanese bamboo they source is light-weight and very sturdy.

This bamboo tea bowl is unique in that the natural shape of the bamboo is preserved and minimal alteration is done to the overall shape– you can still notice the natural grooves in the node of the bamboo. Because of this, each bowl will be slightly different in shape and size. It’s incredibly light, easy to handle, and the natural shape of the bamboo-fiber feels comforting in the hand.
